When patients need persistent tear augmentation, doctors often consider punctal plugs. How long can patients go between evaluations? A new plug called the Vera180, just announced by Lacrivera, is absorbable but lasts approximately 180 days. The company says the plug is ideal for treating post-surgical dry eye, contact lens intolerance and various ocular surface diseases.

Vera180 plugs are available in sizes of 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.4mm and 0.5mm, packaged in single pair and 10-pair boxes (20 plugs).
