It’s time to update your calendars—again—for Vision Expo East. The long-awaited show is now moving to May 25-28, 2021 from its original date in March. The Vision Council and Reed Exhibitions, organizers of Vision Expo, said in a press release that the new date will give companies and conference goers more time to plan for the event amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The current environment has made it challenging for anyone to finalize in-person events, and the first quarter of 2021 seemed too soon for many in the optical community, according to organizers.

“With this in mind, as well as the health and safety of the community, we have made the decision now to host the event in late May to give our members and exhibitors at Vision Expo the time they need to make their plans,” said Mitch Barkley, vice president of Trade Shows and Events at The Vision Council, in a press release.

Vision Expo East will be celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2021, and organizers are busy finalizing the event’s program, which will likely look a little different than in years past, according to Fran Pennella, vice president of Vision Expo at Reed Exhibitions. Additional details will be coming in the months leading up to May.
