OD Divas, the popular optometry Facebook group, held its first party at the Sky High Bar during Vision Expo East (VEE) week.
Julie Belanger, OD, the moderator for the group, shared, “What started as a simple Facebook group founded by Joan Miller, OD, a year ago has grown into a networking group of almost 4,000 lady bosses and students who lend each other advice and recommendations on every everything from staff management to which vendors support their brand. For our one-year anniversary, I launched the idea of having our first party. Three weeks later at VEE, nearly 100 ladies celebrated on the rooftop as connections were made in person.”
The group is thankful for the platinum support of PECAA and HOYA, gold support of Eyefinity, a partnership with Plein Les Mirettes and tremendous assistance of Lena Walker, OD, to made it a night where attendees felt special and wanted to be a part of the next event.
“We had a great time at the group’s first party and are excited to host our second party at VEW in September!” Dr. Belanger added.
