Pathways to Practice - Dr. Linda Chous
"If you can think it, you can do it," says Linda M. Chous, OD, of Minneapolis, in the latest installment of the Pathways to Practice series for Women In Optometry magazine. She says that she found her passion working as a technician in an ophthalmology practice – where she decided that the ODs she saw in action seemed happier than the MDs. Dr. Chous has opened The Glasses Menagerie and says that private practice has allowed her the chance to pursue her happiness in a number of ways: spending time with her family and being involved with organized optometry, something she encourages every OD to do. Dr. Chous says that in her experience, the only limitations on achievement are the ones doctors allow to creep into their heads. She seems as delighted with her career choice now as she was initially. And an unanticipated benefit has been that her children have grown up seeing her working hard and loving her work.
