DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
RPS Adeno Detector Plus
Rapid Pathogen Screening recently gained FDA 510(k) clearance on its latest point-of-care diagnostic test—the RPS Adeno Detector Plus. It requires only a small sample of human tears to detect all known serotypes of adenoviral conjunctivitis in just 10 minutes, the company says.

The RPS Adeno Detector Plus demonstrates a clinical sensitivity of 90% and a specificity of 96% when compared against cell culture as the reference method. This level of accuracy allows for appropriate patient management at the office and reduces future visits, additional lab testing and unnecessary prescription costs, the company says.

New Maui Jim Sunglass Design
Maui Jim’s newest sunglass, the Black Coral, is a fully metal-rimmed style that features patented PolarizedPlus2 lens technology. The frame is crafted from durable Monel metal with anti-corrosive nickel/silver spring hinges and adjustable, non-slip Rabalon nose pads. Acetate temples feature a high-gloss, dark shell-like finish, available in either matte black or matte espresso.

Lenses are made from ST (SuperThin) glass that is 20% thinner and lighter than conventional laminated, polarized lenses. ST glass is also scratch-resistant and optically clear, and a unique bi-gradient mirrored finish enhances protection from light. Black Coral lenses are available in Neutral Grey (for bright, sunny days) and HCL Bronze (for variable light conditions).
